As part of the assignment for the static verification of the Ponte di Traona sull'Adda, aimed at defining the conditions for the operation of the infrastructure, it has been necessary to determine the length of the poles of foundation piles which are markedly undermined by the flowing of the river Adda.
An indirect investigation campaign was carried out aimed at determining the extension of the pole in the ground by two integrated methodologies: the analysis of the electromagnetic signals reflections in depth (GPR) and the detection of the elastic waves velocity within a hole parallel to the pole (down-hole).
